The LCK 2025 Season closes off its first week of matches with almost 1.6M Peak Viewers (PV) in the bank. Following stable results for various matches, T1’s first appearance of the season against DRX fell just below a million peak viewers. However, their second match against Gen.G was the most popular match, setting new records for the world-famous series.
While T1 are the reigning world champions, they have struggled in past years to overcome regional competition in the LCK. Ultimately, the fan-favourite squad was unable to best Gen.G, who closed out the game with a 2-1 victory after a third map which lasted over 50 minutes. As this final match of the week continued, viewership only continued to rise and rise, eventually reaching 1,577,919 PV.
In an explosive start to the year, the LCK 2025 Season generated almost 10.25M Hours Watched in its opening week. Across the days of gameplay, the Korean circuit was able to maintain almost 400,000 Average Viewers for all its games. Matches featuring T1 were the exception to the rule, soaring far above this average baseline.
With almost 1.6M Peak Viewers recorded, the match between T1 and Gen.G broke some records for the LCK. Not only has the game already entered the LCK 2025 Season to the top 5 most popular LCK events ever, but it was also the most popular opening week for an LCK season ever. The hype behind the LCK is only increasing, and it continues to receive strong international viewership from Western and other Asian audiences.

Comparing the opening week results of the LCK seasons directly, the upward momentum of the Korean circuit is clear to see. Each year the LCK has managed to reach new heights recently, and 2025 is no different.
As it stands, the opening week of the LCK 2025 Season was the second-most popular League of Legends esports match of 2025, falling only behind the grand final of the LCK Cup 2025, which also featured T1. In some cases, the opening week of a tournament is the most popular stage until later in the season, but considering T1’s global appeal and the LCK’s status as the premiere LoL esports circuit, it could very well best this PV soon again.
The LCK 2025 Season has already cemented itself as one of the most exciting tournaments of the year.
