You’d think there’d be plenty of questions after a thrilling New York Knicks comeback.
But for OG Anunoby, there were literally none.
OG’s team overturned a 20-point deficit to steal Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.
But unfortunately for the 27-year-old, reporters struggled to come up with a question for him.
It meant his press conference lasted just 20 seconds, and he was literally left speechless.
Anunoby sat down and surveyed the room, but after no questions were asked of him, he got up and shot right out of there.
This was despite Anunoby chipping in with 16 points, two rebounds and four triples in the Knicks’ pivotal 106-100 win
The 2019 NBA champion played an integral role in what was effectively a must-win game.
The questions were likely all saved for Karl-Anthony Towns, who took over in the fourth quarter to save his team from the brink of elimination.
All signs led to a 3-0 lead for the Pacers after the Knicks were down 16 points mid-way through the third quarter and 10 points entering the fourth quarter.
Jalen Brunson was also stuck on the bench with five fouls after three quarters, so it meant Towns had to step up.
And he did, scoring 20 of his 24 points in the last quarter to ensure the Knicks stay alive in the series and avoid a 0-3 hole.
“It’s a true test when you’re down 20-plus,” Towns said.
“Tonight was the kind of night where he had to have that never-say-die attitude.”
Towns opened the fourth quarter with a three-pointer, shifting momentum to the Knicks.
He then made two more layups to get New York within 3 points of the Pacers, and by then there was no stopping the Knicks, who would go on to win the game.
“They put me in great spots to succeed, and I just wanted to capitalize on the opportunity,” Towns said after also recording 15 rebounds.
“All of us are just trying to do whatever it takes to win, get ourselves back in the game.
“We wanted to put ourselves in a position to where at the end of the game we found ourselves with a chance of winning.”
Tyrese Haliburton, who made headlines after copying Reggie Miller’s choke gesture in Game 1, admitted he didn’t play well.
It came after Shaq offered Haliburton an apology after his doubting ‘killer instinct’ ahead of Game 2.
“All four guys who played off the (Knicks) bench are really defensive guys, and they come in and wreak havoc,” said Haliburton, who until now has laughed in the face of his ‘overrated’ haters to become the new clutch king.
“I thought we just didn’t do a good job of continuing to play fast. I felt like I did a poor job of keeping pace in the game, especially in the fourth there.
“I feel like I was walking the ball up every play. So I know it’s a big area of improvement for me.”
The Knicks can level the series on Tuesday in Indiana.
