Paige Details Craig Conover’s Removal from Kyle’s Wedding

0

How to Watch

Watch Summer House on Bravo Wednesdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on Bravo.

After Summer Houses Kyle Cooke confirmed longstanding claims that Craig Conover “got kicked out” of his wedding to Amanda Batula in 2021 earlier this season, Paige DeSorbo is now offering new intel on what she says really happened that day.

The topic arose on Part 2 of the Season 9 reunion when Andy Cohen pointed out that, for years, Paige had been “adamant” that the rumors were untrue and gave her the opportunity to “amend” her story. After first clarifying that what she actually “was fighting about” at the previous reunion was more so that Danielle Olivera admittedly “sent the story in to a blogger,” she added, “Now, was [Craig] asked to not return to the backyard? Absolutely.”

“The next morning, I woke up, and I was like, ‘You have to apologize to Mr. and Mrs. Batula,'” Paige recalled. “He absolutely refused.”

Admitting she was “mortified” at the time, the Giggly Squad podcast co-host went on to reveal even more details about Craig’s alleged behavior, including that he was “causing a scene” and “yelling at people.

Amanda and Kyle support Paige’s claims about Craig at their wedding

Amanda, for her part, chimed in to confirm, “Craig was told to leave our property, yes,” and noted that Paige is the one who texted her parents an apology afterwards — something Kyle dubbed “kind of bonkers.”

She also explained that the Southern Charm-er was inside her parents’ home “which everyone was asked not to be in.”

As the drama surrounding Craig partnering with a Loverboy competitor heated up back in Episode 5, Kyle previously said, “Make no mistake, the guy got kicked out of my wedding. He continues to lie about that.”

What Craig Conover said happened at Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s wedding

In June 2024, Craig claimed in an Us Weekly interview that the leak about him being removed from Kyle and Amanda’s wedding was “made up.”

Sharing his perspective on what happened, the Sewing Down South co-owner elaborated, “We had a really good time at the wedding and then when we already were leaving, I basically was made sure to be like, ‘You know what? I don’t think you need to come back in here.'”

Craig continued, “It was a filmed event. I think if I was kicked out, we would’ve seen it on TV. But, to be fair, I was asked to not come back in, in case I wanted to decide to come back in.”

Why Paige DeSorbo “lied” for Craig Conover when they were dating

When the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host asked at the reunion if Paige felt like she “had to lie to protect” Craig, she responded, “Honestly, I’m so uncomfortable because I’ve never had to lie in my entire life until I started dating him.”

She went on to give examples of apparent lies she told, explaining, “Like, it’s little situations that he would put me in that I would have to diffuse. … It’s uncomfortable, and it gets very overwhelming and tiring.”

Addressing Craig and Kyle’s Loverboy drama specifically, Paige explained that she “always fought very hard” for Craig “because he was my boyfriend.” She continued, “I always tried to protect him. If someone said something bad about him, I would go at them. … He was my focus, so, like, I would always defend him. And then we’d get in private and I’d be like, ‘You know that you were wrong, but I had to defend you ’cause you’re my boyfriend.'”

After Paige broke up with Craig in late 2024, she said if anyone defended her, he “unfollowed them and cut off all communication.” Both Kyle and Carl Radke confirmed they were among those who Craig did that to, at the reunion.

When post-split rumors that Paige cheated began swirling, she pointed out that Craig didn’t come to her defense then, either, despite their reputations being “very important,” as public figures. “He did not need to defend me. He could have just said, ‘No, she didn’t cheat on me,'” Paige added. “But I really didn’t need him leaning into, ‘She wanted other people.’ I didn’t break up with him for other people.”

So now, despite any hopes for the contrary, Paige insisted that she and Craig “will never speak again,” nor will she ever even say his name.

As they both now look to their separate futures, find out more about how Paige and Craig’s split sparked a “serious feud” between the Summer House and Southern Charm casts.

Mark Eckman appointed bishop of Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese

As uh we begin *** new chapter in our diocese today. We can be grateful that we continue to move forward to be the best that we can be as the body of Christ. The bishops were greeted by *** thunderous round of applause and *** standing ovation. The audience filled with other clergy and diocesan staff members all hearing from the leadership for the first time since the announcement. Now the diocese says it was just after 6 this morning that they received *** call from the Holy See to let them know that Pope Leo had accepted Bishop Zubic’s retirement. It was actually 9 months ago to the day today that Bishop Zubic sent his letter of. That’s something that is required by all bishops when they turn 75. Of course, 9 months ago it was the late Pope Francis at the helm of the Catholic Church. Bishop Zubic says he asked one favor in his resignation letter, and that was to be able to celebrate his 50th anniversary of becoming *** priest while still serving as bishop of the diocese, and he was able to do just that last month. He praised Pope Leo for his choice and his predecessor Bishop Mark Ekman. Bishop Ekman is *** lifelong Pittsburgher. He was born and raised in the South Hills. He says he is surprised by his appointment, but he’s also honored and humbled. I’m honored that he thought highly enough that I have the ability to be able to lead uh such *** wonderful magnificent diocese. But I also have to say how humbled I am because uh if you look back at our 182 years as *** diocese, we’ve had wonderful shepherds from the very beginning, uh, beginning with Bishop Michael O’Connor all the way up to and including Bishop Zubic. Bishop Ekman will be installed during *** special mass that is scheduled for July 14th. *** day *** time for that mass has not yet been released. We’ll let you know as soon as we have that information. As for Bishop Zubic, what his retirement is going to entail, he tells us he is not going to be *** couch potato. He still plans to be actively involved in the church and volunteering as well.

Mikey Madison to Replace Sydney Sweeney in A24 Poe Film

A24 wants to go viral with its new plague movie. Mikey Madison is in talks to replace Sydney Sweeney in A24’s adaptation of The Masque of the Red Death. Edgar Allen Poe’s gothic tale is about how the rich can’t escape death, an always timely theme. The film will see Madison play twins — one noble, one common. So it’s also kind of an adaptation of Barbie As the Princess and the Pauper. Poor Mikey will sneak into the cloistered abbey Rich Mikey has been hiding out inside, as a plague ravages the land. The story has been adapted before as a Vincent Price joint, and as part of Mike Flanagan’s Poe-stravaganza, The Fall of the House of Usher, for Netflix.

This is one of the first projects announced for Madison post Oscar win. She was attached to Reptilia last month, co-starring Kirsten Dunst. Previously, she’d been circling a Star Wars baddie role, but talks reportedly broke down over pay. Sydney Sweeney had been attached to Masque, but Euphoria season three got in the way.

Soggy start to a cooler Tuesday

Mikey Madison in Talks to Star in Edgar Allan Poe Adaptation at A24

0

“Anora” Oscar winner Mikey Madison is in talks to star in an adaptation of an Edgar Allan Poe story called “The Masque of the Red Death” that is set up at A24, an individual with knowledge of the project told IndieWire.

Charlie Polinger, a playwright who is the director of his upcoming debut film “The Plague,” is directing what’s described as a “wildly revisionist take” on the Poe short story. Polinger is also executive producing the film alongside Lucy McKendrick.

Sydney Sweeney was originally meant to star in the film, but a source says she dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. The project was first reported back in January, with A24 acquiring worldwide distribution rights for the film.

'Ready or Not'

A24 had no comment.

“Red Death” is a short originally published in 1842 about the Prince Prospero as he tries to hide from a plague by hiding himself in an abbey, but in the midst of a masquerade ball, a cloaked figure dressed as a Red Death victim is an unexpected guest. The Gothic fiction is an allegory for the inevitability of death, and the new film from Polinger is meant to be a reimagined take on the story.

For Madison, this would be her first project post-Oscars should a deal make. “Red Death” is expected to film at the end of this year or early next year. However, Madison did join a package for “Reptilia,” a new film that was presented to buyers at Cannes and would be directed by Alejandro Landes Echavarría and co-star Kirsten Dunst. Madison was also briefly in talks to join the “Star Wars” film “Starfighter” opposite Ryan Gosling, but that fell through.

Prior to winning the Oscar for “Anora,” Madison broke out on FX’s “Better Things,” she had a minor but quite memorable role in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood,” which also starred Sweeney, and she starred in “Scream” from 2022.

Madison is represented by UTA, Authentic Talent, and Sloane Offer. Polinger is represented by UTA and Anonymous Content.

THR first reported the news.

Jessica Pegula French Open upset results in first since 2017

The post Jessica Pegula French Open upset results in first since 2017 appeared first on ClutchPoints.

Down goes world No. 3 Jessica Pegula in the 2025 edition of the French Open women’s singles tournament. On Monday, Pegula, who’s also the United States’ no. 2 player, was stunned in the fourth round of Roland Garros at Court Philippe-Chatrier by world No. 361 Lois Boisson of France, via a score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Boisson’s upset of Pegula, 31, becomes even more impressive when considering the fact that she tore the anterior cruciate ligament of her left knee just before the 2024 French Open.

A year later, the 22-year-old Boisson is on an incredible and unforgettable run in the French Open. She immediately made a loud noise in the tournament when she took down world. No. 24 Elise Mertens in the first round, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Boisson then defeated Anhelina Kalinina (6-1, 6-2) and Elsa Jacquemot (6-3, 0-6, 7-5) in second round and third round, respectively, before pulling off a massive upset victory at the expense of Pegula, who is also the daughter of the owners of the Buffalo Sabres of the NHL and the Buffalo Bills of the NFL.

With her loss, Pegula failed to at least match her best finish in a French Open singles tournament, which was a quarterfinal appearance at Roland Garros in 2022. As for Boisson, she’s become the first French woman to reach the French Open quarterfinals since Kristina Mladenovic in 2017.

Boisson’s takedown of Pegula has sent tennis fans into a frenzy online as well.

“Dark Horse of the tournament? Who is next?” said a fan.

“So many chances for Pegula in that last game alone. Jeezz sad to see. Congratulations to Boisson. She went after it on big points,” another fan on social media shared.

“What a game! both ladies played very well. Congratulations to Lois Boisson for advancing to the quarter finals,” shared an X (formerly Twitter) user.

“Note to self, do not bet on a Pegula win post third round,” one fan commented.

Via a different post: “Talk about Motivational Monday. This is a triumph!”

“Insane level of professional tennis level game, IQ and style and long awaited tennis lesson for deluded and cocky Pegula… wonder who is next in the queue for the reality check,” chimed in another commenter.

Up next for Boisson is another showdown against a ranked opponent, with no. 6 Mirra Andreeva of Russia, who defeated no. 17 Daria Kasatkina of Australia in the fourth round.

Mikey Madison Replacing Sydney Sweeney Masque of the Red Death

0

Mikey Madison has set one of her first roles since winning the Oscar for her performance in Neon’s Anora.

Madison is in talks to star in The Masque of the Red Death, a re-imagining of the creepy Edgar Allan Poe story from filmmaker Charlie Polinger. It hails from A24, which will distribute worldwide, and Picturestart, which is producing.

Madison has developed a reputation of being very particular in choosing her roles, and despite numerous outreaches, has not engaged in much since her comet-like ascendance after Anora premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. (There are two exceptions. She was in brief talks to play a villain in Star Wars movie Starfighter, but those talks broke down over pay. She also attached herself to the package Reptilia, about a dental hygienist who falls in love with a mermaid.)

Now, Madison may have found a role that could be a worthy follow-up and one that has a serious start of production date. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Madison would play twin sisters in a story that sees a mad prince take in the noble class into his castle while a plague devastates the peasantry. The story sees a long-lost twin, hidden among the lower class, enter the castle and into a decadent world of orgies, opium, power schemes, revenge and decapitations.

The project has been described as a quintessential A24 movie, one that likely will include eye-brow raising, meme-able scenes that should resonate among the TikTok class.

Madison replaces another It Girl in Red Death. Sydney Sweeney was previously on board to star but dropped out due to scheduling. Sweeney has a packed schedule this year and is currently shooting Euphoria and is due to star in Legendary’s adaptation of Japanese media property Gundam in the fall.

Red Death is due to shoot at the end of this year or early next year, according to sources.

Madison received numerous accolades for her Anora work, earning multiple nominations and ultimately wins courtesy of the BAFTA Awards and the Academy Awards. Anora won five Oscars, best picture among them. Madison also memorably appeared in Scream (2022) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

She is repped by UTA, Authentic Talent and Sloane Offer.

Summer House’s Paige Says Craig Was Kicked Out of Kyle Wedding

0

Paige DeSorbo finally revealed what actually went down with ex Craig Conover at Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s wedding.

“Was he asked not to return to the backyard? Absolutely,” Paige, 32, confessed during the Summer House season 9 reunion on Wednesday, June 4, admitting that Craig, 36, was kicked out of the reception. (Paige and Craig split in late 2024 after three years of dating.)

Amanda, who married Kyle, 42, in September 2021, confirmed the events, adding, “Craig was told to leave our property.”

Paige recalled waking up the next morning and telling Craig, “You have to apologize to Mr. and Mrs. Batula,” who hosted the wedding for their daughter at their New Jersey home.

Summer House’s Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula had mixed reactions when they first learned Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover were officially over. “I’d say I was surprised, not shocked,” Amanda, 33, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting a new season of Summer House. “I didn’t react the way the rest of the internet did. But […]

“He absolutely refused,” Paige alleged, while Amanda, 33, recalled Paige texting her parents the next day to say she was sorry for what transpired. “I was mortified,” Paige admitted.

Paige detailed the Southern Charm star’s antics that day, claiming, “He was so belligerently drunk. He was causing a scene. He was kicking tables. He was yelling at people. He was going inside the house.” (The Batulas specifically asked that guests stay outside, according to Amanda.)

Paige continued, “He acted like an entitled brat at the wedding, and he was an embarrassment.”

Rumors surfaced after Paige’s costars tied the knot that Craig was booted from the event. While Paige largely kept quiet about the alleged scandal, she previously slammed former castmate Danielle Olivera during the show’s season 8 reunion, which aired in June 2024, for fueling the speculation.

At the time, Danielle, 36, confirmed that she did “leak” the story to the media because it was “juicy as f***” — and she didn’t regret it.

“What I was fighting about at the reunion last year was that Danielle sent the story in to a blogger. That was the part I was most mad about,” Paige explained on Wednesday, noting that the cast “don’t send things in anonymously about each other.”

Craig, for his part, exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2024 that the wedding scandal story was “made up.”

“It didn’t happen, which kind of hurt my feelings,” Craig claimed, noting that he did drink “too much” at the wedding. “When we were already leaving, I basically was [told] like, ‘You know what? I don’t think you need to come back in here.’”

Craig insisted that he wasn’t “kicked out of the wedding” and added that the wedding was filmed, so fans “would’ve seen it on TV” if it was true.

Kyle, however, claimed during a March episode of Summer House that Craig wasn’t telling the truth. “Make no mistake, the guy got kicked out of my wedding,” Kyle alleged. “He continues to lie about that.”

Since breaking up with Craig in November 2024 — their split was officially announced just before the new year — Paige said she’s stopped protecting her ex.

In fact, during the Summer House reunion, she claimed, “I’ve never had to lie in my entire life until I started to date him. I had to be like, ‘Oh, he’s not that drunk. Oh no, we just wanted to go home early.’ It’s little situations that he would put me through, and I had to defuse. It’s uncomfortable.”

Paige also broke down the timeline of her and Craig’s split, telling host Andy Cohen on Wednesday’s episode that she told him they were done the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Paige explained that following Craig’s appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on December 10, 2024, the exes had an “in person discussion” that marked the “final end” of the relationship.

Paige then publicly announced their split on her “Giggly Squad” podcast on New Year’s Eve. “Like, all of our relationship, made it so easy for him to say, ‘Yep, we broke up,’” Paige said on Wednesday. “But like the rest of our relationship, his ego had to get all over it and he had to make it known, ‘She broke up with me.’”

Despite the rocky end to their relationship, Paige said she’s in a good place. “I am dating. I’m absolutely dating,” she revealed, noting it’s “nothing serious” and there’s “no one special.”

Us exclusively confirmed in March that Craig, meanwhile, has moved on with model Natalie Buffett.
