LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The suspect in the late-night shooting on the Las Vegas Strip that left two dead has been arrested.
Manuel Ruiz, 41, walked into the Henderson Police Department and turned himself in Monday morning.
He is being held on two charges of open murder with a deadly weapon.
This comes after police responded to a shooting Sunday night, with police saying the violence may have stemmed from a social media dispute.

Undersheriff Andrew Walsh says Metro officers heard gunfire in the 3600 block of Las Vegas Boulevard and rushed to the scene, where they found two victims on the sidewalk with apparent gunshot wounds.
Despite immediate medical aid, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Walsh said investigators believe they’ve identified the suspect and called this an isolated incident.

Naturally, Clarke let out a roar when he landed back into the field of play, as one would after pulling off a catch of that rarity.
“Oh my God!” one of the Athletics’ announcers said when Clarke made the miraculous play. “I’ve heard the list, I’ve seen the list of the greatest catches you’re ever going to see in your life. If you don’t have room for this one on your list, we’re watching two different sports.”
This catch from Clarke came just days after he made another mind-boggling play at his Athletics home in Sacramento against the Baltimore Orioles.

Clarke was forced to hit the jets to left-center field, as Jorge Mateo roped a ball toward the wall. Clarke never slowed his stride as he reached out to make the catch, and he paid the price as he slammed into the fence to end the inning. The play kept the A’s lead at 4-3 as well.
For Clarke, this game in Anaheim on Monday night was just his 16th with the Athletics, as he started the season in Triple A.
But the 25-year-old is certainly making a name for himself defensively in his first cup of coffee in the big leagues.

The actress, 43, went on to describe what she and her fellow “Full House” stars looked like in the picture.
“Like, aged down goths. And for some reason, there was a Kourtney Kardashian lookalike in there who was supposed to be Becky [Katsopolis],” Sweetin said, referencing Lori Loughlin’s “Full House” character. “But me and the Olsen twins were the same age, except for Mary-Kate, who actually looked like she does today.”
According to Sweetin, who portrayed Stephanie Tanner on “Full House” and its reboot series “Fuller House,” the late actor Bob Saget (who starred on the sitcom as Danny Tanner) was illustrated in the likeness of Geddy Lee, lead vocalist of the rock band Rush.
“It was just a very, very strange thing. Dave made a joke. I didn’t get it,” Sweetin admitted, going on to explain that she later came to understand Coulier’s message. “I was like, ‘Oh, sorry actually, the joke was great.’”

Sweetin and Barber reunited with former “Full House” cast mates John Stamos and Lori Loughlin for the live podcast, which took place at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles.
Stamos and Loughlin reminisced about their characters’ romance and 1991 TV wedding. They were joined by surprise guests Scott Weinger, Marla Sokoloff and series creator Jeff Franklin.

Standard and high-risk countries must comply with full due diligence, including geolocation, legality verification, and risk mitigation, with inspection rates of 3% and 9%, respectively.
The classification is said to be based on the risk that the production of these commodities contributes to deforestation or forest degradation, using the latest data from the FAO’s Global Forest ResourcesAssessment (FRA dataset).
However, a closer look raises concerns. The European Commission designated only four countries—Belarus, Myanmar, North Korea, and Russia—as high risk. Environmental groups have criticized the decision, arguing it overlooks major deforestation hotspots. For instance, Earthsight pointed out that these four countries account for just 0.07% of EU imports of relevant commodities, casting doubt on the classification’s effectiveness.
According to Reuters, “Countries including Brazil and Indonesia, which have historically had among the world’s highest rates of deforestation, will be labeled as ‘standard risk’—which means they will face lighter compliance checks on goods exported to Europe.”
In Asia, low-risk coffee-producing countries include Laos, India, and Vietnam, which together accounted for 28.7% of European green coffee imports, according to the European Coffee Report2023/2024. In Africa, Rwanda, Kenya, and Burundi are also classified as low-risk, contributing a combined 1.6% market share. In Oceania and Central America, Papua New Guinea and Costa Rica hold low-risk status, representing 0.3% and 0.5% market share, respectively.
The EUDR’s country risk classification is already reshaping how EU buyers select suppliers. Countries rated as low risk face lighter compliance requirements, making them more attractive to importers seeking to reduce regulatory costs and audit exposure. This shift is already visible. The Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) policy paper “EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products” notes increasing pressure on exporters from standard and high-risk countries to prove their products are deforestation-free.
For Asian exporters, the shift is especially tangible: buyers now demand traceability and documentation even before contracts are signed. While the Commission claims the system is designed to “streamline compliance where warranted,” it also introduces new competition based on environmental performance.
As the EUDR continues to influence global trade dynamics, it is imperative for professionals across the supply chain to stay informed and proactive. Building robust traceability systems, collaborating with technical partners, and advocating for inclusive implementation are essential steps to ensure compliance and maintain competitiveness.
By working together, stakeholders can transform regulatory challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth and equitable development.
The live-action How to Train Your Dragon lands in theaters this week, but some fans have taken issue with the portrayal of one key character. Universal seems quite keen on the live-action film, especially after the positive reaction it received following its premiere at CinemaCon earlier this year. Once a place for affordable holidays, recent price increases have left tourists looking elsewhere

Croatia is a popular holiday destination known for its affordable prices and has attracted tourists from across Europe, including the UK, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Italy. But recently holidaymakers have faced a surge in prices which has put visitors off.
In some places prices have risen by more than 50 per cent, which has made Croatia more expensive than two of its biggest rivals, Spain and Greece.
Over the same period costs in the two Mediterranean countries have only risen by 15 to 20 per cent in the same period, the Express reports.
It’s now putting Croatia’s reputation as an affordable travel destination at great risk. The soaring costs are not the result of external factors – such as energy costs or value-added tax (VAT) rates.

In fact the country boasts some of the lowest energy prices within the EU and a reduced tourism VAT rate of 13 per cent.
The main cause for the price spike lies in the rising operational costs within the hospitality industry.
Higher prices have seen a stagnation in overnight stays and worryingly a decline in tourist spending.
During the peak summer season last year, foreign tourism revenue in Croatia fell by 0.7per cent compared to the previous year.
Tourists have vented their anger at the steep rise in prices on travel review platforms, like Tripadvisor.
One Norwegian was left deeply disillusioned after holidaying in Croatia last year.
“Everything is much more expensive than before,” they wrote. “Prices are abnormally high and have probably increased two to three times in two years.
“The price of a sunbed is 25 to 30 euros! Croatia was our first choice for a summer vacation, but now everything has unfortunately become too expensive.
“I don’t know if we will return. I’m sorry that Croatia is developing in this direction.”
However, a UK tourist didn’t see any evidence of a steep rise year-on-year.
They wrote: “Comparing what we spent in Rovinj on food and drink in 2023 and what we spent in Hvar this year was very close interestingly.
“There wasn’t a great variation of prices. The only difference was that Rovinj was a bit better value wine wise with more in the way of carafes on offer.”

An insider tells PEOPLE, “Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,” 143, which came out in September. “It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.”
A second source adds of Perry, who is currently on her Lifetimes world tour, “She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It’s put stress on their relationship.”
Despite any previous negative reviews, it hasn’t impacted the international shows, and the tour sold out three nights in Mexico, leading Perry to add an extra date. The current Australian leg is also completely sold out. She next brings the show to the US, beginning with a July 10 stop in Denver.
When she released her latest album, which the Lifetimes tour is supporting, Perry noted in a statement that her vision was to create “a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message.” (The album title 143 refers to the retro shorthand of “I love you” via pager communication.)

However, the “Teenage Dream” singer has been taking the negativity in stride. In February, she spoke to PEOPLE about the negative criticism she received for her album 143. “You shouldn’t read it when it’s good. You shouldn’t read it when it’s bad,” she said.
Perry, 40, added, “My therapist said something that really changed my life. What anybody thinks about you is none of your business. It’s what you think about yourself.”
She also said she created the album from “a real shift in my life when I became a mother, and I really tapped into that feminine divine energy. The messages on it are celebratory. They’re about love.”
In conjunction with her new album, Perry set off on her Lifetimes Tour in April, less than a month after participating in Jeff Bezos’ all-female Blue Origin flight, which received criticism over its cost and its alleged impact on the environment.
Perry seemingly addressed the criticism during the opening night of the Lifetimes Tour, asking the crowd in Mexico City: “Has anyone ever called your dreams crazy?”
She then addressed the hurtful criticism in an Instagram post.

Nico Parker is speaking out about social media reaction to the actress’ casting as Astrid in the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon.
In an interview with British publication The Times, Parker was asked about online trolls grousing that the actress does not have blonde hair and blue eyes, as Astrid was initially depicted in the animated films that launched with 2010’s original How to Train Your Dragon. Universal Pictures releases the remake of the DreamWorks Animation hit movie in theaters Friday.
“There’s some people that really love the animated movies and really want to see an exact play-by-play of that film, and I hope that you can watch [the new version] and find something that you love about it, regardless,” Parker said. “But for the people that just hate inclusivity, hate change — when it comes to that side of things, I just don’t care.”
The 20-year-old performer continued, “If I wouldn’t value your opinion on most things in life, I can’t value your opinion on my hair. If I did, I would go mad.”

Parker, whose parents are actress Thandiwe Newton and filmmaker Ol Parker, went on to say that she believes Hollywood is making headway when it comes to onscreen representation.
“When I was younger, the amount of mixed race or Black icons, people that I would look to on screen to be like, ‘Oh, this feels like me,’ felt really minimal in comparison to what it could be for young people now, and I think that’s really special,” the actress said. “There’s still a long way to go — for women in general, in terms of new parts, original material and female-led stories. But I think that everything’s changing. I’d like to think that I could contribute to that change at some point.”
Writer-director Dean DeBlois‘ new How to Train Your Dragon features Mason Thames as Hiccup, who develops a friendship with dragon Toothless. America Ferrera voiced Astrid in the original animated trilogy that last hit screens with 2019’s How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.
During a press event earlier this year, DeBlois noted that Astrid “was a little underserved” in the original movie.
“Nico Parker plays Astrid, [and] that feeds into this idea that she has come from a different culture, that she is a descendant of one of those prized dragon-fighting warriors that were collected by Vikings in different places,” the filmmaker said at the time. “She hopes to be chief of this tribe one day. She’s got great ambition, and what’s nice about it is that it creates a conflict between she and Hiccup.”

The TV event of the summer might be just around the corner, with Netflix ready to drop all eight episodes of a new drama that’s been compared to Ozark.
The Waterfront, which has been created by Dawson’s Creek and Scream writer Kevin Williamson, is set for release on June 19, with all episodes dropping at once.
A story synopsis provided by Netflix says: ‘Set against the backdrop of coastal North Carolina… [The Waterfront] centers on the fictional Buckley family and their crumbling fishing empire.’
Starring 90s movie star Holt McCallany, Coyote Ugly actress Maria Bello, and Supergirl legend Mellisa Benoist, The Waterfront ‘explores family dynamics and the lengths people will go to when their legacy is on the line’.
The series has been in production since May 2024, with the majority of the cast announced later in the year – and now fans are ready to see the whole thing.

The Waterfront creator Kevin Williamson told Netflix: ‘We’ve never really seen a story about the commercial fisherman told before in any sort of dramatic way in a family drama.
‘[The fishing industry] is being taken away from them bit by bit. [The lead characters] will do anything to hold onto it – it represents their family. They also care about the town, and so many people depend on them.’
He continued, talking about the plot, which sees the characters having to make millions of dollars very quickly: ‘It’s about a bunch of people who make mistakes, they do some bad things, and then they get in deeper and deeper and deeper.
‘When you have all these people doing bad things, it’s always nice when they do that one good thing that can bring hope back.’

Kevin also revealed that the story behind the series is, in part, a personal and autobiographical one, with his father involved in the fishing industry once upon a time.
‘The fishing industry upturned in the ’80s – my dad couldn’t feed his family. So, someone came along and said, “Hey, if you do this one thing, you can make all this money” and it was hard to say no to.
‘My dad – a very, very good man – got tempted to do some things that weren’t so legal and got in some trouble. [But] it put food on the table and it helped me go to college.’

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Two people are dead and a suspect is in custody after a shooting on the Las Vegas Strip Sunday night that appeared to stem from a conflict on social media, according to authorities.
Officers were patrolling Las Vegas Boulevard around 10:40 p.m. when they heard gunfire coming from the west side of the street, Undersheriff Andrew Walsh told reporters.
They ran to the gunfire and found two people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel pronounced both people dead at the scene.
Walsh said investigators have identified a suspect and believe the shooting was an isolated incident. LVMPD later said the suspect, 41-year-old Manuel Ruiz, turned himself in to officers at a Henderson Police Department station.
Ruiz will be booked into Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of two counts of open murder.
LVMPD believes the suspect and victims “had previously engaged in some type of conflict using a variety of social media platforms,” he said.
No further details were immediately confirmed, though it appeared the shooting, which stemmed from an ongoing conflict between two social media personalities known as “Sin City Manny” and “Finny Da Legend,” had been streamed live on YouTube before the video was removed.
News 3 has reached out to YouTube’s parent company Google for comment.

Las Vegas Boulevard was closed to vehicle traffic for a few hours Monday morning from Flamingo Road to Harmon Avenue, but the street has since reopened.
