Late Kim Sae Ron’s manager sues YouTuber for false claims about embezzlement, grooming, and more – find the details inside! |

0

Pressing information regarding the late actress Kim Sae Ron has come to light. In a turn of events, the celebrity’s ex-manager had filed an official case against popular YouTuber Kwon Young Chan for defamation and for spreading false information.

Late Kim Sae Ron’s former manager sues online personality for defamation

As per reports from SBS News, Sae Ron’s former manager filed a defamation lawsuit against the YouTuber with the Seocho Police Station on June 19 under the Information and Communications Network Act. The YouTuber has been continuously posting content against the late actress’ manager, citing that they were involved with Kim Soo Hyun’s company. Other allegations that have been posted by Kwon Young Chan are about grooming as well as financial misconduct. Sae Ron’s manager, who has been labelled as ‘K’, however, cites that the allegations made are baseless and false.

What does the YouTuber claim?

In his allegations, the YouTuber had claimed that the manager had been involved in money embezzlement, citing a hospital bill amount from November last year after the actress had suffered from a wrist injury. They shared that the two payments were made, with the first one being 5.4 million KRW while the other was at a reduced amount of 4.98 million KRW.Not only that, but the online personality also cited that the manager ‘K’ had direct and unauthorised access to private medical information. He shared that a month after the actress had passed away, a hospital outpatient record had been made in her name. Beyond this, they had also made alleged claims about the manager being directly involved with Kim Soo Hyun’s agency and for allegedly ‘grooming’ Kim Sae Ron, all of which were denied by the manager ‘K’.To provide proof for his claims, the YouTuber even shared photos online of alleged text messages between Kim Sae Ron and her manager, showing a ‘close bond’.

What did the texts show?

The alleged texts between Sae Ron and her manager showed a ‘close and personal’ bond between the two. Many texts indicate a strain within the actress’s family and how the manager ‘K’ became her confidant. Beyond that, the texts also show the man booking medical appointments and offering advice on personal matters to the actress as well.

Manager issues statement, denies all claims

The manager who has sued Kwo Young Chan denied all claims made by the online personality, citing that they were “groundless” and “baseless”. He also stated the grooming allegations, stating that “If you are going to talk about public interest, shouldn’t it at least be based on facts? There is no truth in Kwon’s claims.”

Hozier’s Two Biggest Singles Tie One Another

0

More than a decade ago, Irish rocker Andrew Hozier-Byrne — known mononymously as Hozier — became a global superstar with his breakout single “Take Me to Church.” The tune, which called out the hypocrisy of religious institutions, was noted as controversial to some, but also hugely commercially successful all around the world.

The hit turned Hozier into one of the most exciting new names in his field. Now, 10 years after “Take Me to Church,” “Too Sweet” has helped the musician stray from one-hit wonder status, and it’s the latter track that is in the midst of a thrilling period on the charts in America at the moment.

“Too Sweet” Ties “Take Me to Church”

“Too Sweet” remains a huge smash across more than half a dozen Billboard charts in the United States. The track is still living inside the top 10 on many of the company’s rock and alternative tallies, including those focused on streaming activity, pure purchases, and overall consumption.

As “Too Sweet” holds on and earns its sixty-fourth stay on both the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs rankings, it ties “Take Me to Church” as Hozier’s longest-running hit on those lists.

“Too Sweet” Vs. “Take Me to Church”

Both “Take Me to Church” and “Too Sweet” may have spent 64 weeks on Billboard’s rankings of the most consumed rock and alternative tracks and rock-only tunes, but their performances on the two tallies are not exactly the same. On the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, “Take Me to Church” ruled for 23 weeks, while “Too Sweet” racked up 17 stays at No. 1.

The opposite is true when looking specifically at the Hot Rock Songs chart. On that ranking, “Too Sweet” has managed to reign for 63 of the 64 weeks it has spent somewhere on the list, while “Take Me to Church” scored just 23 frames at the summit.

Hozier Could Replace Billie Eilish at No. 1

“Too Sweet” could easily return to the No. 1 spot on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs ranking at some point, as it’s currently not far from the throne, sitting in the runner-up space. At the moment, only “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish is beating Hozier, as her poppy cut dominates for a forty-fifth nonconsecutive stint.

Club World Cup scenarios: What Inter Miami, Real Madrid, more need to do to reach the round of 16

0

The field at the Club World Cup will whittle down from 32 to 16 over the course of the next week as group stage finales take place across the U.S., paving the way for the knockout stages that begin on Saturday.

As expected, the round of 16 is expected to mostly feature teams from Europe and South America, though that does not mean the tournament has not been full of surprises. South American teams have combined for just one loss so far at the Club World Cup, while Flamengo is one of only a handful of teams to book their spot in the next round with a game to spare after wins against Esperance de Tunis and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami are in a strong position to be the only team not from those continents to crack the last 16 thanks to their surprise 2-1 win over Porto.  Most of the teams who are expected to reach the next round, though, have yet to actually clinch their spots, setting up for a dramatic final round of group stage fixtures.

Daniel Evans vs Miomir Kecmanovic prediction

Former Eastbourne quarter-finalist Dan Evans will hope it’s a case of third time lucky against Miomir Kecmanovic.

The Brit has lost his two previous meetings with the Serb, but this will be a first clash on grass.

Evans showed just how good he can be on the turf with a win over Frances Tiafoe at Queens, but the 35-year-old will have his work cut out against an opponent 10 years his junior here.

Kecmanovic has reached the last eight at this tournament in each of the past two years and will be keen to defend his points.

Evo will have the home support and is well capable of pulling off the upset again, but we tend to think Kecmanovic will do more damage with the serve. That’s not to say a punt on it going to a decider or risking a flutter on Evans isn’t worth it too.

Daniel Evans vs Miomir Kecmanovic tip: Miomir Kecmanovic to win

Rory McIlroy finally has something to smile about after tantrums at U.S. Open

Rory McIlroy’s post-Masters hangover continued at the U.S. Open, but he did receive a timely boost on Monday by securing his place in Team Europe’s Ryder Cup squad for Bethpage

Rory McIlroy has earned his spot as the first player on Europe’s Ryder Cup team, which will face Team USA at Bethpage in September.

The news comes even as McIlroy continues to grapple with his form since his career-defining win at the Masters. Despite achieving the coveted career Grand Slam, the world No. 2 hasn’t been in the hunt for a title in the four tournaments following Augusta.

Oakmont witnessed McIlroy take aim at the media and frequently throw clubs around the historic course. While his final round surge landed him a tie for 19th place at the U.S. Open, it was only a glimmer of positivity in an otherwise underwhelming showing.

Before playing his final round, he candidly expressed his longing to “get out of here,” reflecting a listlessness that’s been apparent in both his game and demeanor since claiming the Green Jacket. Nonetheless, Monday brought McIlroy some cheer with the official notice that he’s secured his position on Luke Donald’s squad.

While recent weeks might not have showcased his best golf, Captain Donald has reason to be heartened by McIlroy’s stellar record earlier this year, including significant victories at The Players and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, not to mention his Masters glory.

McIlroy stands unrivaled at the top of the European qualification rankings, amassing over double the points of his closest rival, Tyrrell Hatton.

The top six players in the rankings secure automatic spots on Donald’s team, while the remaining six positions are filled by the captain’s selections.

Upon learning of his qualification, McIlroy took to Instagram, posting: “I’ll see you at Bethpage,” in a message addressed to his captain.

After ending a 10-year major drought with a Masters win, the five-time major champion has confessed to struggling with motivation; however, defending the Ryder Cup title in New York might be just the spark he needs to reignite his competitive drive.

Since reclaiming the trophy in Rome two years ago, McIlroy has had his sights set on the September showdown against Keegan Bradley’s American team.

“I’ve said this for the last probably six or seven years to anyone that will listen: I think one of the biggest accomplishments in golf right now is winning an away Ryder Cup. And that’s what we’re going to do at Bethpage,” he boldly stated following the victory at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in 2023.

McIlroy is set to make his eighth consecutive Ryder Cup appearance, but first, he has a major championship homecoming to prepare for.

Next month, The Open will be held in his native Northern Ireland at Royal Portrush, and he hopes the return to familiar territory will rekindle his passion after his post-Masters slump. “If I can’t get motivated to get up for an Open Championship at home, then I don’t know what can motivate me,” he declared at Oakmont on Sunday.

“I just need to get myself in the right frame of mind. I probably haven’t been there the last few weeks.”

Stateside, Scottie Scheffler stands as the sole golfer to have secured his Ryder Cup spot, with U.S. Open victor J.S. Spaun making a significant bid for inclusion in Bradley’s 12-man squad after his landmark triumph at Oakmont.

Both sides come into the final matchday with unbeaten and unblemished records, setting up for a very intriguing contest.

Mexico entered the tournament as heavy favorites to once again make it back to the championship match. They had some moments of despair against the Dominican Republic in the first match of the tournament, but responded with a much better effort on Wednesday night in a 2-0 win against Suriname.

Costa Rica has had to gut it out in its first two contests. They won a high-scoring 4-3 affair against Suriname on Matchday 1, before squeaking out a 2-1 victory over the Dominican Republic on Wednesday.

Now, with both sides level with six points apiece, and Mexico having the better goal differential, La Tri has to not lose in order to secure first place.

That should not be hard, as Mexico is 35-18-7 all-time against Costa Rica.

Both of these teams have already secured their spots in the knockout rounds, with a pair of wins each. Now all that’s left is to determine the final winner of Group A when they clash head-to-head. As it stands, a tie game would give Mexico 1st place thanks to their 3-2 lead in goal differential.

Mexico is coming off a 2-0 win over Suriname thanks to a second half brace by Cesar Montes, who found the net twice in seven minutes. Costa Rica, meanwhile, came from behind to beat the Dominican Republic 2-1 thanks to a late, 85′ goal from Josimar Alcocer.

The DR and Suriname play an inconsequential Group A game concurrently at 10 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Here’s a recent Gold Cup story, via The Associated Press:

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Defender Cesar Montes scored twice in a six-minute span in the second half and defending champion Mexico struggled early but managed to get past Suriname 2-0 on Wednesday night to secure a spot in the knockout round of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Montes opened the scoring on a header off a corner kick in the 57 and added another goal in the 63rd minute for the Mexicans, who defeated the Dominican Republic 3-2 in the opening match of the tournament.

With three goals in the tournament, the 28-year-old defender, who plays for Lokomotiv of Moscow, currently shares the scoring lead with Costa Rican Manfred Ugalde.

“I am excited about the goals, but the priority is keeping a clean sheet. I obviously didn’t imagine it; that’s what strikers are for, but as long as I can help the team in that way, I’ll do it,” Montes said.

Montes had scored only once in his 53 previous national team games before to the Gold Cup, in a friendly match against Panama in June 2021.

With the win, Mexico leads Group A with six points and will play Costa Rica next Sunday in Las Vegas aiming to secure the first place ahead of the second round.

The Costa Ricans are lead by former Mexican coach Miguel Herrera, who managed el Tri in the 2014 World Cup.

“We have an intense match coming up. It’s an good team. Miguel is a respected coach in Mexico, and he’ll definitely want to beat us. But we’re going to go out and work hard and try to fight for the group lead,” added Montes.

The Mexicans lead the group on goal difference and will secure the top spot with a draw.

“We knew it was a difficult group and that’s how it has been so far, although it might not seem like it because of the two wins, but it wasn’t easy,” Mexico’s coach Javier Aguirre said.

The Costa Ricans defeated the Dominican Republic 2-1 earlier for their second win of the Gold Cup and also qualified for the second round. Suriname and the Dominicans are eliminated.

Suriname has lost all four official matches played against Mexico and will try to close the tournament with a win when they play the debutant Dominican Republic next Sunday.

Mexico and Costa Rica meet for first place in Group A

0

MIAMI — The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup continues with Mexico and Costa Rica meeting in Group A on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.

The two nations are coming off consecutive victories to begin their campaigns. Both have six points in hand and have booked their place in the Quarterfinals.

Clash of Unbeaten Coaches

Mexican coaches Javier Aguirre of Mexico and Miguel Herrera of Costa Rica will write a special chapter in Sunday’s encounter. Current Costa Rica manager Miguel Herrera remains unbeaten in 10 Gold Cup matches, with 8 wins and 2 draws, including a streak of 7 consecutive victories. On the other side, Javier Aguirre also boasts an unbeaten record in 10 matches, with 7 wins and 3 draws, and his recent 2-0 win over Suriname marked the first time he’s achieved three straight victories in the tournament.

Mexico thriving on set pieces

Mexico earned a 2-nil win against Suriname to collect its first clean sheet of the campaign on Wednesday. César Montes scored the two goals, both of which stemmed from corner kick opportunities. Luis Ángel Malagón and his backline will seek to continue being a difficult team to score against in Mexico’s final group stage match.

El Tricolor opened the tournament with a 3-2 win against the Dominican Republic. Edson Álvarez, Raúl Jiménez, and César Montes scored for El Tricolor in that encounter.

Four of Mexico’s five goals, so far in the group stage, have come from corner kicks. Mexico leads the group on goal difference, meaning only a draw is needed to seal the top spot.

Ugalde, Alcócer help Costa Rica to consecutive comebacks

Costa Rica has completed consecutive victories in comeback fashion, with its latest coming from a 2-1 win over the Dominican Republic. Manfred Ugalde equalized from the penalty spot and assisted Josimar Alcócer for the match-winner.

Ugalde also struck from the penalty spot to place Los Ticos’ up by two in their campaign-opening 4-3 victory against Suriname. After a surge by the Caribbeans with three unanswered goals, it was Alcócer who put that match back on level terms before Ugalde struck the winner in second-half stoppage time.

The Ugalde-Alcócer duo is responsible for five of Costa Rica’s six goals. The Central Americans are managed by former Mexico national team head coach Miguel Herrera.

All-Time Series Mexico v. Costa Rica –

The upcoming clash will mark the ninth meeting between Mexico and Costa Rica in Gold Cup history. El Tri has claimed victory in six of the previous eight encounters, with the remaining three ending in draws. Their most recent showdown came in the 2023 quarterfinals, where Mexico earned a 2-0 win at AT&T Stadium on July 8 thanks to goals from Orbelín Pineda (52’) and Érick Sánchez (87’).

All three draws between these nations in Gold Cup play have ended 1-1, a testament to the tight margins when these sides collide:

– In 1993, during Group B action at the Estadio Azteca (July 15), Mexico benefited from an early own goal by Javier Delgado (4’), but Juan Cayasso leveled things for the “Ticos” in the 30th minute.

– In the 2009 semifinals (July 23 at Soldier Field), Guillermo Franco struck late for Mexico (88’), only for Froylán Ledezma to equalize at the death (90’) for Costa Rica.

– And in the 2019 quarterfinals (June 29 at NRG Stadium), Raúl Jiménez (44’) and Bryan Ruíz (52’) traded goals in another gripping 1-1 draw.

When it comes to goals, Andrés Guardado leads all Mexican scorers against Costa Rica in Gold Cup history with three goals, followed by Rafael Márquez and Jared Borgetti with two apiece.

On the Costa Rican side, four players have each netted once against Mexico in this tournament: Juan Cayasso, Froylán Ledezma, Marcos Ureña, and Bryan Ruíz.

Mexico’s most dominant win over Costa Rica came in the group stage of the 2011 edition. On June 12 at Soldier Field, El Tri stormed to a 4-1 victory behind goals from Rafael Márquez (17’), a brace by Andrés Guardado (19’, 26’), and Pablo Barrera (38’). Marcos Ureña (69’) scored the lone response for the “Ticos.”

All-Time Series (All Competitions):

– 56 matches

– 31 wins for Mexico (87 goals)

– 19 draws

– 6 wins for Costa Rica (33 goals)

Rafael Devers goes 0-for-5 in first game vs. Red Sox since blockbuster trade

0

When the Boston Red Sox traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants, they did it knowing they would be facing their disgruntled former player in just five days. That game arrived Friday.

Taking the field as a designated hitter, but with first base in his future, Devers failed to make his old team pay, going 0-for-5 at the plate in a 7-5 loss. He did receive a nice ovation before his first at-bat, though.

Devers’ hitless night wasn’t for lack of balls in play. He managed to lift a ball to the left-field wall in the third inning but was robbed of an extra-base hit by former teammate Ceddane Rafaela.

Devers finished his night with his lone strikeout, swinging and missing at a 102 mph fastball from Aroldis Chapman. He is now 3-for-16 with one double four games into his Giants career.

Devers met with reporters before the game to discuss the reunion, though he mostly indicated a desire to move on after a very public falling out with the Red Sox front office.

Devers was the longest-tenured player on the team and in the early years of a team-record, 10-year, $313.5 million contract, but he made his displeasure public in spring training when it became clear that the Red Sox wanted to move him off third base in favor of new arrival Alex Bregman, a Gold Glover at the position.

The matter appeared to have been settled when Devers agreed to transition to designated hitter — a potentially temporary move, given that Bregman can opt out this winter — but the hurt feelings came back when the Red Sox asked if Devers could cover first base after a season-ending injury to Triston Casas. Devers declined, then said a lot of things to reporters that you can’t take back. Boston traded him a month later.

Speaking Friday, Devers didn’t say much that he hadn’t already said during his introduction with the Giants, but he did make one notable claim, via NBC Sports Boston:

“I would say that I put some good numbers up in Boston, and I think that I do feel that I have earned some respect,” Devers told reporters through an interpreter at Oracle Park. “If they would have asked me at the beginning of spring training, yes, I would have played.”

The Red Sox probably weren’t going to ask Devers to play first base while Casas was still healthy. However, those comments show how much further this dispute went beyond a simple position change. As the Red Sox brass indicated the day after the trade, the conflict ultimately came down to communication and personality.

In the meantime, Devers has been taking grounders at first base since he arrived in San Francisco, but he won’t make his debut at the position this weekend.
