WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Good morning Texoma! Temperatures this morning are starting out in the mid-to-upper-70s. It’s warm and it’s humid – much like it has been the past several mornings. Heading into the afternoon, temperatures rise into the mid-90s across Texoma this afternoon. Humid conditions are expected once again, but breezy conditions will once again make things pretty decent across the area – especially in the evening. Wind gusts should once again get up to around 20 MPH this afternoon. Heading into tomorrow, expect much of the same conditions across Texoma. We’re still locked into this repetitive weather pattern, but there’s signs that some rain chances could return to the picture at the end of the seven-day forecast.
“Chess” stars Aaron Tveit, Lea Michele, Nicholas Christopher (Photo: Richard Phibbs)
The Broadway revival of Chess has an official home and dates. The production, starring the previously announced Aaron Tveit, Lea Michele and Nicholas Christopher, will begin previews on October 15 and open on November 16 at the Imperial Theatre.
Directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) and choreographed by Lorin Latarro (Waitress), this revival will feature a new book by Emmy winner Danny Strong (Dopesick). The music and lyrics are by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and EGOT winner Tim Rice, based on an idea by Rice. Music supervision is by Brian Usifer.
The cast will be led by Tony winner Tveit as American chess champion Freddie Trumper, Emmy nominee Lea Michele as Florence Vassey and Nicholas Christopher as Soviet grandmaster Anatoly Sergievsky.
Set during the Cold War, Chess is the iconic musical where power and passion collide. It’s America versus Russia at the World Chess Championship, where the espionage and romance are as complicated and exhilarating as the game itself. For the two players and the woman caught between them, everything—personal, professional and political—is on the line, and no one plays by the same rules.
Originally released as a concept album in 1984, Chess premiered in London’s West End in 1986. A reworked Broadway version opened in 1988 and ran for two months. A 2018 West End revival brought the show renewed attention.
The revival adds to a Broadway season already embracing ABBA, with Mamma Mia! returning to the Winter Garden Theatre this summer.
Additional casting and creative details will be announced soon.
Three Brits are vying for quarterfinal spots at the ATP 250 event in Eastbourne this week. Two of those Brits–one being part of the match of the day and a former British No. 1–will headline four of the Wednesday matches previewed by LWOT in this set of predictions. The other predictions for Wednesday matches feature Taylor Fritz vs Joao Fonseca.
ATP Eastbourne Day 3 Predictions
Billy Harris vs Mattia Bellucci
Head-to-head: Bellucci 1-0
Billy Harris is close to his career high ranking and the Top 100, but more importantly, there’s pressure on the Brit as he’s defending semifinalist points from last year’s Eastbourne event. Harris’ 6-4 6-4 win over compatriot Cameron Norrie was his first Tour-level win in 2025. Meanwhile, Mattia Bellucci is largely inexperienced on grass courts, but he’s had an okay 14-20 run this season–exclusively at Tour level for the first time. This is a 50-50 match that should come down to pressure, but Harris coming off a sneaky upset might give him the slight edge. Bellucci is the favorite by ranking. Prediction: Harris in 3
Nuno Borges vs Jenson Brooksby
Head-to-head: First meeting
Jenson Brooksby is continuing to climb the rankings after a long layoff, and will get a good shot at a fifth Top 50 win of 2025. Nuno Borges is steadily improving on fast grass courts after a first round win over Brit Jack Pinnington Jones. However, Brooksby has an unsteady and uncomfortable game that could throw off Borges’ rhythm–one that relies on consistent tennis from the baseline. If Borges can serve repeatedly well, he’ll win, but I find it more likely for the American to n0tch an upset. Prediction: Brooksby in 3
This should be an exciting eighth career meeting between these two players. Both players have winning records on grass courts, while this is the pair’s first match on such a surface. Ugo Humbert has slid down the rankings going into the midpoint of 2025, while Lorenzo Sonego has likewise been up-and-down. The Italian did nearly stun Alexander Zverev in Halle last week, and he has the benefit of already playing a match in what was a 6-2 6-4 sweep over Fabian Marozsan. Look for Sonego to reach the quarterfinals with solid tennis behind him. Prediction: Sonego in 3
Daniel Evans vs Tommy Paul
Head-to-head: 1-1
Tommy Paul won the biggest title of his career on grass in 2024 at the ATP 500 event in London, but withdrawing from this year’s event due to abdominal injury has raised some concerns. This is Paul’s first match since the French Open, and he’ll have to play well against a home favorite already in his fourth 2025 grass court tournament. Daniel Evans has a tricky slice backhand and flat serve that will contrast Paul’s topspin. However, the Brit is largely ranked outside the Top 150, and Paul has a solid 18-2 record against players outside the Top 100 dating back to the start of 2024. If the American is healed up, he’ll win in a tight two-setter. Prediction: Paul in 2

Laboratory testing is not recommended for people who were
exposed unless they develop symptoms of measles, including fever and rash.
Symptoms of measles can start seven to 21 days after being exposed. If symptoms
develop, please call ahead before visiting the doctor or emergency room so
steps can be taken to prevent exposure to others.
“Getting vaccinated against measles continues to be the most
important step we can take to protect ourselves and our loved ones,” said NC
Health and Human Services Secretary Dev Sangvai. “It is important to check with
your health care provider to ensure you are current with all your
vaccines.”
People who have been exposed to measles may be eligible to
receive post-exposure prophylaxis [PEP], which may prevent them from becoming
ill. PEP may be offered to infants too young to receive an MMR vaccine, people
who do not have age-appropriate vaccination, immunocompromised people and pregnant
people.

The scorching heat continues will continue the rest of the day and into the evening hours. Temps will be running in the middle to upper 90s with the heat index in the 105-110+ degree range. Uncomfortably warm and muggy conditions are expected tonight as lows only fall into the middle 70s. Tomorrow also looks very hot but afternoon showers and t’storms should keep the severe heat somewhat in check. Regardless, this is dangerous heat so make sure you keep a close eye on the elderly, pets, and younger ones. Keep an extra close eye on those you know without air conditioning. Because of the threat for extreme heat today, the CBS 21 First Warning Weather team has declared Tuesday a Weather WARN Day.
Several disturbances will move through the rest of the week as our hot weather pattern breaks down. As a result the threat for showers and t’storms will increase mid to late week. Highs this weekend look to be more tolerable back into the 80s to near 90. Notice the heat index through the period becomes far more tolerable.
CBS 21 FIRST WARNING WEATHER FORECAST:
This Afternoon: Mostly sunny, very hot, and humid: High 98, Heat Index: 105+
Tonight: Mostly clear, uncomfortably warm, and muggy: Low 76
Tomorrow: Partly cloudy, very hot, and humid with a chance of t’storms: High 96, Heat Index: 100+
Tomorrow Night: Partly cloudy, warm, and muggy with a chance of t’storms: Low 74
Thursday: Partly cloudy, hot, and humid with a chance of t’storms: High 90
Shakira will make history Thursday night at her sold-out concert at San Diego’s Snapdragon Stadium.
This week’s four concerts San Diego music fans won’t want to miss
The biggest-selling female Latin-music artist of all time, the Colombian-born vocal superstar will become the first Latin-music artist, male or female, to headline a show at the Mission Valley stadium. She is also set to become the first to headline stadium concerts just seven weeks apart in San Diego and Tijuana — where she performs Aug. 11 at Estadio Caliente.
Her shows on both sides of the border are part of Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (“Women Don’t Cry Anymore”) World Tour. She will also perform Aug. 4 and 5 at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, the home field for the NFL team formerly known as the San Diego Chargers.
The tour is Shakira’s first since her 2018 El Dorado concert trek. It included a San Diego date at Valley View Casino Center (which has since been renamed Pechanga Arena San Diego).
Here’s what attendees should know if they are going to the sold-out Snapdragon Stadium performance by Shakira, who has won 15 Latin Grammy Awards and four Grammy Awards.
1. Thursday’s concert starts at 8:30 p.m. Gates open at 7 p.m. There is no announced opening act.
3. Snapdragon is a cashless facility and credit or debit cards must be used for all purchases. Reverse ATMs are available at the stadium to load cash onto a prepaid debit card to use at the venue’s concession and retail locations.
4. Only mobile tickets are accepted at Snapdragon and screenshots and PDFs of tickets will not be accepted. Ticket should be downloaded to your mobile wallet before arriving at the concert. Your tickets can be located through the Snapdragon Stadium app: snapdragonstadium.com/connect/download-our-app. Tickets purchased at the stadium box office will also be digital and will be sent directly to your email and cellphone.
5. Once inside the stadium, you can use the same app to determine the easiest route to your seat, concessions and restrooms.
6. Concertgoers with non-field tickets can enter through the Northwest Gate, the Kaiser Permanente Northeast Gate, or the Alaska Airlines Gate. All concertgoers with tickets on the field must enter through the stadium’s Quidel East Gate, where they will go through security screening and an initial ticket scan. Once in the extended stadium concourse, field-ticket concertgoers must scan their tickets a second time to receive a wristband to access the field. They will enter the field through sections 108-141 on the east side of the stadium.
7. Snapdragon has an 11 p.m. Thursday night curfew. There will be extended San Diego Trolley service from the stadium, with departures every 15 minutes and extra trips added as needed until the crowd diminishes. The last westbound departure after Thursday’s concert will be at 12:22 a.m. Friday and the last eastbound trip to SDSU will be at 12:07 a.m. Friday.
The last two eastbound trolleys to Santee will depart Thursday at 11:40 p.m. and Friday at 12:18 a.m. The night’s last scheduled Blue Line trolley trip from Old Town to UTC will be Thursday at 12 a.m. Friday. The last Blue Line departure for San Ysidro will be at 12:22 a.m. Friday from downtown’s 12th & Imperial trolley station. More information is available at: sdmts.com/rider-info/events/shakira.
8. The rideshare drop-off and pick-up location for the Shakira concert is in the stadium’s Purple parking lot at Mission Village Drive, just north of Jacaranda Street and just south of Friar’s Road.
9. Water bottles, whether full or empty, cannot be brought into the concert. Snapdragon is a clear-bag-only venue and only small bags that meet specific size restrictions are allowed. A list of all prohibited items and more information about the stadium is available at: snapdragonstadium.com/visit/a-z-guide
10. Wear comfortable shoes. As at any stadium, concertgoers can count on doing a fair amount of walking to and from their seats and to restrooms and food and beverage outlets.

Dave Portnoy is not one to shy away from an opinion – not least when it comes to Caitlin Clark.
The Barstool Sports founder has been seen sporting the WNBA superstar’s full Indiana Fever look, rocking up to the team’s 2025 season home opener in a number 22 jersey, shorts and white sneakers.

Portnoy has been in Clark’s corner ever since her college days at Iowa, he is never afraid to say it how it is, and has – on occasion – critiqued some of her performances of late.
But he has jumped to her defense once again after Fox Sports’ Joy Taylor ignited a debate on an appearance of the Joe Budden Podcast that Clark’s popularity has been boosted by her fiercest rival, Chicago Sky forward, Angel Reese, something Portnoy dubbed ‘ridiculous’.
“This is the Magic Johnson, Larry Bird moment for the WNBA. This is great,” Taylor said. “I’m a story teller. I think storylines are so f******* important and I think you need villains, and I think you need heroes. You need s*** to sell. You’ve got to sell a fight, brand all of this.
“It upset white men to watch this strong, winning, unapologetic Black woman be in Caitlin’s face. They still cling to it. It’s now spun to this whole thing where Caitlin’s better than Angel and blah, blah, blah.
“I just said… we would not be talking about Caitlin Clark the way that we do if it wasn’t for that moment with Angel Reese. I will die on this hill. I will die on this hill. I will fight this war.”
Portnoy took offense to this claim, and took to social media to voice his own opinion on Taylor’s rant.
“The dumbest most ridiculous rant of all time,” Portnoy said. “Nobody outside hardcore WNBA fans and LSU fans would know who Angel was it weren’t for her riding Caitlin’s coattails. It’s made her a fortune so kudos to her but this is the dumbest take I’ve ever heard.”
Clark and Reese’s rivalry stems back to their days in college, where in the 2023 National Championship game between Iowa and LSU, it was Reese and the Tigers who came out on top.
In that exact contest, there was some taunting being aimed at each other with Reese pointing to her ring finger, whilst she also imitated John Cena’s infamous ‘You Can’t See Me’ celebration.
Last season, the two star rookies battled it out for the coveted Rookie of the Year award.

Initially, it looked like it was going to go right down to the wire, but Reese sustained a hand fracture which saw her miss the final six games of the season.
Once the voting results were released, it wasn’t that close, with Clark just one vote shy of winning the award unanimously.
Throughout the early stages of the 2025 season, Reese has seen a slight dip in her overall numbers from last season, averaging 10.8 points and 11.5 rebounds, though she is still the only player to be currently averaging double-digit rebounds.
Clark has seen her season thwarted by a quad injury, which forced her to miss six games.
But in her first outing back, she led her team to victory, registering 32 points, nine assists and eight rebounds as the Fever took down the reigning WNBA champions New York Liberty, handing them their first loss of the season.
She followed that up with a 20-point outing in a fiery match-up against the Connecticut Sun, which made the headlines following various scuffles between the two sides, with Clark being the primary target, as she often is.

However, in her last two appearances, she has struggled with both turnovers, and shooting from beyond the arc.
In Indiana’s 88-77 loss to the league’s newest expansion team, Golden State Valkyries, Clark went 0-for-7 from behind the three-point line, as well as having six turnovers.
The very next game against reigning MVP A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces, despite finishing with 19 points and 10 assists – making history as the fastest player to reach 400 career assists – she shot just 1-for-10 from downtown, and had eight turnovers, resulting in an 89-81 loss.
In their last outing against each other, the Fever dominated the Sky en route to a 93-58 victory, with Clark scoring a 20-10-10 triple-double.
What is her go to?’ – WNBA legend urges Angel Reese to follow Caitlin Clark example as Sky star struggles against Fever
On the opposing end of the court, Reese could only muster 12 points – albeit a team-high – though she did register a game-high 17 rebounds in the contest.
Whilst they are certainly rivals on the court, Clark and Reese share a mutual respect for each other’s games, and the ‘Bayou Barbie’ spoke out publicly praising her foe long before they both reached the WNBA.
“Oh my gosh, I love Caitlin. We’ve been competing since we were in AAU,” Reese said back in 2023. “It was always fun and it was always competitive.
“One day, hopefully, me and her could even be teammates. Because she is a great player, and a great shooter and a great person and great teammate.”
Though the possibility of two of the WNBA’s brightest stars teaming up together one day is not entirely out of the question, for now, at least, they will be each other’s fiercest opponents for the next few years to come.
The Sky and the Fever will next face off against each other on July 27 in Chicago, where fireworks are to be expected.
Mick Ralphs, a founding member of Mott the Hoople and Bad Company, has died. He was 81.
Paul Rodgers, his former Bad Company bandmate, shared, “Our Mick has passed, my heart just hit the ground. He has left us with exceptional songs and memories. He was my friend, my songwriting partner, an amazing and versatile guitarist who had the greatest sense of humor.
“Our last conversation a few days ago we shared a laugh but it won’t be our last. There are many memories of Mick that will create laughter. Condolences to everyone who loved him especially his one true love, Susie. I will see you in heaven.”
Drummer Simon Kirke also issued a statement, noting, “He was a dear friend, a wonderful songwriter and an exceptional guitarist. We will miss him deeply.”

In 2016, following a tour with Bad Company, Ralphs was hospitalized with a stroke. He officially retired from performing after that. According to a press release announcing his death, “Ralphs gave his final performance with Bad Company on Oct. 29, 2016, at London’s O2 Arena. Just days later, he suffered a debilitating stroke and remained bedridden until his passing.”
Ralphs was born in England in March 1944 and began playing in local bands in the early ’60s. In 1969, he helped form Mott the Hoople, remaining with the band until 1973, contributing to all of the band’s studio albums in some capacity.
He also played on all of Bad Company’s albums, even though he didn’t always tour with them.
What Songs Did Mick Ralphs Perform On?
Although he played on a few tracks on the band’s 1974 album, The Hoople, Ralphs was already on to his next project, Bad Company, which he cofounded with former Free singer Paul Rodgers.
The band’s 1974 self-titled debut album included the hit single “Can’t Get Enough,” which was written by Ralphs. He also wrote and sang “Ready for Love” on Mott the Hoople’s 1972 album, All the Young Dudes. Bad Company covered the song on their first LP.
Over the years, Ralphs played with other artists, including a spot on David Gilmour’s 1984 About Face tour and as a guitarist with former Mott the Hoople bandmate Ian Hunter. He also released a handful of solo albums over the decades in addition to a couple with the Mick Ralphs Blues Band.
Ralph’s death comes just months after Bad Company was finally announced as part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s induction class this year.

There’s some amazing talent that’s no longer with us, but what a legacy they left behind.
Luna no buscaba aplausos.
“Algo me invadió. Nunca había roto una regla, pero estoy muy feliz de haberlo hecho” dijo. Nezza cerró su actuación con una sonrisa, dejando claro que también desde la música se puede resistir.
