Carlos Alcaraz, at just 22 years old, is already aiming to win his sixth career tennis major at Wimbledon in 2025.
Alcaraz won his first major at the 2022 US Open, which kickstarted an impressive run during which he has won five of the ATP Tour’s 11 Grand Slam events. That includes each of the last two Wimbledon titles, which came over 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.
Alcaraz entered Wimbledon in good form, having won the 2025 French Open over World No. 1 Jannik Sinner. Despite that victory and his back-to-back Wimbledon wins, the Spanish star remained the tournament’s No. 2 seed behind Sinner. Still, he is expected to once again be among the top contenders for the major title at the All England Club.
Alcaraz faced a test in the first round against veteran and former top-10 talent Fabio Fognini before winning in five sets. His second-round matchup was a bit easier, as he swept qualifier Oliver Tarvet with relative ease.
Alcaraz will need to perform more like his second-round matchup as the competition ratchets up to become the 10th man to win at least three consecutive Wimbledon titles.

Alcaraz’s next match at Wimbledon is scheduled for Friday, July 4. The tournament’s No. 2 seed will face Struff, who is currently ranked 125th in the ATP Tour Rankings.
Should Alcaraz beat Struff, the Spaniard would advance to Round 4 of the tournament and play Sunday. He would face the winner of the matchup between Andrey Rublev (14th in the world rankings) and Adrian Mannarino (123rd).
