10 things to know if you are going to Shakira’s Snapdragon Stadium concert Thursday – San Diego Union-Tribune

Shakira will make history Thursday night at her sold-out concert at San Diego’s Snapdragon Stadium.

This week’s four concerts San Diego music fans won’t want to miss

The biggest-selling female Latin-music artist of all time, the Colombian-born vocal superstar will become the first Latin-music artist, male or female, to headline a show at the Mission Valley stadium. She is also set to become the first to headline stadium concerts just seven weeks apart in San Diego and Tijuana — where she performs  Aug. 11 at Estadio Caliente.

Her shows on both sides of the border are part of Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (“Women Don’t Cry Anymore”) World Tour. She will also perform Aug. 4 and 5 at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, the home field for the NFL team formerly known as the San Diego Chargers.

The tour is Shakira’s first since her 2018 El Dorado concert trek. It included a San Diego date at Valley View Casino Center (which has since been renamed Pechanga Arena San Diego).

Here’s what attendees should know if they are going to the sold-out Snapdragon Stadium performance by Shakira, who has won 15 Latin Grammy Awards and four Grammy Awards.

1. Thursday’s concert starts at 8:30 p.m. Gates open at 7 p.m. There is no announced opening act.

2. The Snapdragon parking lot will open at 5 p.m. Thursday and tailgating is allowed. Parking costs $72.35 per car and $289.25 per RV. Parking passes can be purchased online in advance at: ticketmaster.com/snapdragon-stadium-parking-shakira-san-diego-california-06-26-2025/event/0A006155C0DB6294.

3. Snapdragon is a cashless facility and credit or debit cards must be used for all purchases. Reverse ATMs are available at the stadium to load cash onto a prepaid debit card to use at the venue’s concession and retail locations.

4. Only mobile tickets are accepted at Snapdragon and screenshots and PDFs of tickets will not be accepted. Ticket should be downloaded to your mobile wallet before arriving at the concert. Your tickets can be located through the Snapdragon Stadium app: snapdragonstadium.com/connect/download-our-app. Tickets purchased at the stadium box office will also be digital and will be sent directly to your email and cellphone.

5. Once inside the stadium, you can use the same app to determine the easiest route to your seat, concessions and restrooms.

6. Concertgoers with non-field tickets can enter through the Northwest Gate, the Kaiser Permanente Northeast Gate, or the Alaska Airlines Gate. All concertgoers with tickets on the field must enter through the stadium’s Quidel East Gate, where they will go through security screening and an initial ticket scan. Once in the extended stadium concourse, field-ticket concertgoers must scan their tickets a second time to receive a wristband to access the field. They will enter the field through sections 108-141 on the east side of the stadium.

7. Snapdragon has an 11 p.m. Thursday night curfew. There will be extended San Diego Trolley service from the stadium, with departures every 15 minutes and extra trips added as needed until the crowd diminishes. The last westbound departure after Thursday’s concert will be at 12:22 a.m. Friday and the last eastbound trip to SDSU will be at 12:07 a.m. Friday.

The last two eastbound trolleys to Santee will depart Thursday at 11:40 p.m. and Friday at 12:18 a.m. The night’s last scheduled Blue Line trolley trip from Old Town to UTC will be Thursday at 12 a.m. Friday. The last Blue Line departure for San Ysidro will be at 12:22 a.m. Friday from downtown’s 12th & Imperial trolley station. More information is available at: sdmts.com/rider-info/events/shakira.

8. The rideshare drop-off and pick-up location for the Shakira concert is in the stadium’s Purple parking lot at Mission Village Drive, just north of Jacaranda Street and just south of Friar’s Road.

9. Water bottles, whether full or empty, cannot be brought into the concert. Snapdragon is a clear-bag-only venue and only small bags that meet specific size restrictions are allowed. A list of all prohibited items and more information about the stadium is available at: snapdragonstadium.com/visit/a-z-guide

10. Wear comfortable shoes. As at any stadium, concertgoers can count on doing a fair amount of walking to and from their seats and to restrooms and food and beverage outlets.
