CHEYENNE, Wyo. — As Memorial Day arrives, multiple municipal services and offices will cease operation for the holiday. Others, such as the Cheyenne Aquatic Center and the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will stay open.

Memorial Day closures
- City offices will be closed and the Cheyenne City Council won’t meet until Tuesday, May 27.
- The Solid Waste Transfer Station and Happy Jack Landfill will be closed all day. Garbage pickup will be scheduled to the day after it is regularly scheduled. For Cheyenne residents who get their waste picked up Monday, garbage pickup will come Tuesday. This applies to every day of the week.
- The Compost Facility and Household Hazardous Waste will be closed Memorial Day and Tuesday.
- Public transportation won’t operate Monday and buses will not run.
- The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and the adjacent Paul Smith Children’s Village won’t open Monday per the facility’s regular schedule.
- The BEAST Recreation Facility will be closed Monday.
Other city and public facilities will be open Memorial Day, however, including the following:
Open Memorial Day
- The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will stay open, which might beat swimming outside, as rain is likely in the area tomorrow.
- Additionally, The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will also stay operational.
- Both the Airport Golf Course and Kingham Prairie View Golf Courses will be open.
