Fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses have been begging for an update on the series as they discover a ‘hidden clue’ while celebrating the series’ tenth anniversary
It’s been ten years since Sarah J Maas’s ever-popular A Court of Thorns and Roses series hit our bookshelves, and fans across the world have been celebrating – while also begging for an update as to when we can expect the next book in the series to appear.
With new special editions of the series being released this year, named the ‘Night Court’ editions, with black and silver foiled covers with black sprayed edges, both old and new fans have been celebrating this bestselling series.
To celebrate these special editions and the tenth anniversary of the first book’s publication, giant book displays have been popping up in bookshops across the US – with fans pointing out that these books are showing one specific chapter.

Taking to TikTok, one fan showed off these books in her local bookstore, and shared a theory on what could be the next book, and when it will announced.
Sharing this video, @sarareadsabook wrote: “I’m highly convinced book 6 is going to be about the spring court and the announcement is coming May 5th. These giant ACOTAR books popping up everywhere and inside is the quote from Calanmai (May)
“It’s Elain’s turn for a book (and we all know she’s a Spring). The 10 year ACOTAR anniversary is May 5th. I believe we may find out some jaw dropping info about Calanmai in book six pertaining to certain characters [three sets of eye emojis]”
Meanwhile, the tenth anniversary displays in the UK are also sparking theories, especially one big display in the Liverpool Waterstones, that includes quotes from the books, a mask, some floral displays, and an image of a dagger surrounded by shadows.
After Bloomsbury shared a clip of this on TikTok, fans were quick to comment on the video and share their theories. Many suggested that an announcement could be on the way, and one fan wrote: “Can this please be the announcement that the announcement is coming?”
Others shared their theories on what a new books could be about, with one fan writing: “Without Hope We Can Not Endure- on the floor, closed ivy on the walls, blossoms – looks like hints of Elain!”
Another added: “truth teller on the top left and the flower on the top right of the arch (ACOWAR & ACOFAS cover symbols)…very interesting” suggesting a further link to Elain, and her potential relationship with Azriel.
While a third penned: “ELRIEL IS GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER GUYS,” which started an argument in the comments, with one reply suggesting: “Gwyn is Azriel’s mate” and another adding: “Eris is Azriel’s mate.”
